kinda new to the forums, stumbled across this discussion board whilst researching the wt involvement with the un as an ngo, laughed my head off when i found out they got booted cuz everyone gave em a bad rap (serv's em right) http://www.aimoo.com/forum/postview.cfm?id=311102&categoryid=3459&threadid=1131916&highlight_key=y&keyword1=ngo.

anyway, been a "baptized" jw since 13 at the cow palace (now 20).... been a "questioning" jw since a few months after my "baptism".... still hang around the jw's... heck i was brought up as one from a tot and all of my good friends are jw's... even my girlfriend is a jw..... sigh... i've told her my stance... i'm way more liberal when it comes to religion and spirituality than i was taught to be, and bless the creator, she still loves me.

but anyway i'm at a continuing crossroads, as far as staying or leaving.... i shan't be in this state of mind for much longer but i'm just trying to get good reasons to pack the bags.... if anyone has some "meat" for me to sink my teeth into pass it my way.. haha, wow i'm spilling my guts and no one even knows me yet lol.

This Is So Weird----We Don't Miss Even A Little Bit----Our Being Witnesses!

my wife and i were talking today about how we just don't miss the meetings, the service, the association..... we miss nothing.

she's been a jw for over 25 years and i've been for more than 45 years----and once we simply stopped going, there was no sadness, no questioning our decision.

it's almost like we are carrying on as if we were never witnesses.

i am so bummed right now.

my sister, who is df'd, has so many medical conditions, she suffers alot.

she has recently been dignosed with fibromyalgia, and is in such extreme pain, she had to have cortisone injections into various trigger points into her neck and spine.

You reap what you sow? Those words are going bite his butt. As Lutece said, "Someday he'll regret what he said very deeply." Yes, providing he reflects on why certain tragedy's befall him. Surprisingly, some people just don't give a damn.

Nilfun said, "... right now your brother's heart is two sizes too small." You gave him to much credit by saying 'heart.' Anyone that speaks to another under those circumstances, doesn't have a heart!

I have seen this type of sceario played so often you'd think people would learn from it, but NO! This is shocking speech. Even a non-christian would not utter words of this nature under such circumstances.

Keep your chin up, we here understand and support your position.

Do You Have Any: First Nations Connection/Aboriginal Peoples Connection

i have been recently surprised on this forum to discover members who do have some affiliation or connection to their first nations/aboriginal heritage.. i live in canada, and my maternal grandmother's father was mi'kmaq (nova scotia).

my paternal grandfather's mother: mi'kmaq as well.. i think it's interesting, discovering all these wonderous connections to the places we come from.. for those not living in north america, where indigenous peoples reside ie: new zealand, australia, south africa and south american nations, have you discovered any family lineage leading you aboriginal peoples?.

just curious.

RB. They don't have a PowWow in your neck of the woods? We have an annual one one here in July. I'm next door to Montreal. The Mohawk Indians. Have you heard about the Oka Crisis? Check your search engine.

There's always something doing here. We just turned down a Casino and now were into other politcal battles with the Band Council.
